Let's save the Polar Bears!!!!!!!!

Let’s save the Polar Bears!!!!!!

A few months ago, we got some good news about saving the polar bears. The federal government had decided to list the polar bears as a threatened animal and they will be protected. YAY!!!! This might be a good news, but some environmentalists think that polar bears should not only be put in the threatened category but they should be put in the endangered category, where they will have more protections. Since, global warming is also an issue on what cause the polar bear to extinction. I think we should also contribute and help protect the polar bears by saving our own environments.

I agreed on putting the polar bears on the endangered list because there are about 25000 polar bears left. Although the numbers had risen from 5000 during the 50s to 25000, I think they should still be protected because each year there are still 500 polar bears being hunt in Canada. Aw… Furthermore, the polar bears’ environment s is also threatened by global warming, where more and more Arctic sea ice is melting, which means the place where polar bears can live is becoming less. Can you imagine you home being flooded?

In conclusion, I believe that the laws on polar bears should be tighten because the population of the polar bears will be decreasing because of global warming and hunting problems in the future. So we should PROTECT the polar bears and give them a pleasant environment to live in –just like you home. =]

I totally agree that the government should tighten the laws to protect polar bears. I've heard before that polar bears were drown because the ice is melting so quickly in the poles! Therefore, we should definitely save this endangered animals before they are close to extinction. cute polar bear picture! i like i like

I think the decrease of polar bears really reflects on how severely global warming is affecting our natural environment. Yet, most people(including us maybe?) choose to ignore the problem and keep living in our own desirable lifestyles. I agree with you that laws should be tightened in order to sustain the polar bears; however, I think it is ironic how the government wouldn’t give more protections till the polar bears are actually categorized as threatened or endangered animals. Nevertheless, I think now is the time for the government to act; not only to protect the polar bears, but also to educate its citizens.
